South Fork Water Board – Embankment Restoration

Flood waters and large woody debris eroded and damaged the rip-rap embankment under the concrete access deck at the SFWB river water intake structure. Repair to the pre-flood condition included placing 373 tons of ODOT class 50 rock and 1244 tons of ODOT class 200 rock. Mitigation included adding fill material topped with soil and mulch in and around the large rip-rap to provide for planting a variety of appropriate native plants. The access to the work area was on a extremely steep slope making access very difficult. This project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
