City of Sherwood – 4.0 MG Sunset Reservoir #2

Emery & Sons Construction was awarded a contract by the City of Sherwood to be the general contractor for the construction of a partially buried 4.0 million gallon prestressed concrete reservoir, a water booster pump station, a 48” diameter welded steel pipeline and associated appurtenances at the City of Sherwood Snyder Park site. This project also included the installation of water transmission lines and storm drainage piping, construction of a reservoir overflow and storm water quality pond, construction of two lighted tennis courts, SCADA system improvements, storm drainage, landscaping, and other miscellaneous site work. The work also included half-street improvements on SW Division Street adjacent to the reservoir site including sanitary sewer and storm water facilities, road widening, regrading, pavement resurfacing, sidewalks, street trees and a retaining wall. The major work components of construction included:

  • 1300 LF of 48″ diameter steel water transmission main
  • 1200 LF of 16″ and 24″ ductile iron waterline
  • 2200 GPM pump station facility containing 5 vertical turbine booster pumps
  • Sodium hypochlorite feed system
  • 30,000 CY of excavation
  • 25,000 Ton of aggregate placement
  • 2,320 CY of structural concrete
