The Oleson Road project will bring improvements to Oleson Road in the Garden Home area. Washington County voters approved funding in May 1995, when they approved the Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP 3). Oleson Road improvements are identified in MSTIP 3 as two improved travel lanes, intersection and safety improvements, sidewalks and bike facilities.
The Oleson Road project limits extend along SW Oleson Road from just north of Hall Boulevard to the south approach of the Fanno Creek bridge (just south of Beaverton Hillsdale Highway) approximately 2.6 miles. This project runs through three political jurisdictions: unincorporated Washington County, the City of Beaverton, and the City of Portland. The estimated total project cost is $17.8 million. Oleson Road is a Washington County arterial that functions as a north-south route for both local and through traffic. The emphasis of this project is to improve road and intersection safety while upgrading pedestrian and bicycle facilities.
The project entails the clearing of nearly 400 trees, the installation of 10,450 lf of Ductile Iron Waterline, and 19,270 lf of Reinforced Concrete Storm Sewer Pipe.
